Gold Coast Potters Association Benowa & Mudgeeraba. Proof in the pudding that clay connoisseurs have been around a while, the Gold Coast Potters Association has been up and running since 1977. The local council was kind enough to give the organisation a school to set up camp, and the enthusiastic volunteers soon had it re-vamped so.

It can be done when the clay is soft, leather hard, bone dry, bisqued and after it has been glazed. It can be glazed and have decoration added and fired a third time with lustres and decals.

The Gold Coast City Council provided the derelict, original Benowa Primary School building for their use and enthusiastic volunteers soon had a workshop for members fitted out.

The Gold Coast Potters Association was formed by local craftspeople in 1977. Then in 1992 the council moved the original Benowa Post Office to the Potters' Benowa site.
